Busan is now the best MICE (Meeting, Incentive, Convention, Exhibition) city in Korea. According to the Korea Tourism Association, Busan City hosted 3710 MICE events in 2011, beating Seoul which hosted 3576 MICE events during the same year.
Busan’s popularity as an international events and tourism city is thanks to its top-notch convention and accommodation facilities, its pleasant environment for both business and tourism, and its perfected support system. Busan is the first city in Korea with its own U-convention service system in place to support its high-tech international conference facilities. BEXCO, Nurimaru APEC House and the nearby five-star hotels with their own international conference halls all combine to provide for the best venue imaginable.
Busan City has about 55,000 accommodations available, varying from youth hostel accommodation to five-star hotels suites. Notably, about 9,000 rooms are located near BEXCO and in the Haeundae area, nearby various facilities such as large department stores. Participants at international events can also enjoy tours of Busan’s automobile, shipbuilding and machine industrial complexes, as well as Busan Port. In addition, the completion of the KTX has now dramatically reduced travel times between Busan and Seoul.

You can enjoy historic places such as the UN Memorial Cemetery in Busan, Seokguram (Grotto) in Gyeongju and Tongdosa (Temple) in Yangsan, which are all only a short distance from each other, as well as Busan's numerous international festivals, like Busan International Film Festival, Busan Sea Festival and the Busan Fireworks Festival.Busan City has successfully hosted many large scale international events including the 2002 Korea/Japan FIFA World Cup, the 2002 Busan Asian Games and the 2005 APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting, the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors' Meeting in 2010, the Fourth High Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness (HLF-4) in 2011 and the 95th Lions Clubs International Convention in 2012. Busan has proved its expertise in the area of security, interpretation and other support systems as well.
