Spo1 Luminaire, a summer night light festival, opened on July 18 at the Spo1 Park, otherwise known as Geumjeong Sports Park.

Sculptures by the Spo1 Park entrance, the pine forest tunnel and the waterfront square area are decorated with about 100,000 lights and will be lit up every night from July 18 until August 16. The hosts of the event, the Busan Cycle Racing Corporation, report that thousands of citizens have already visited the park to enjoy the cool summer evening air everyday since the festival started.

Every night from 8 p.m., a variety of live events take place for 90 minutes.

From Mondays to Fridays, live events include guitar and saxophone performances. On Saturdays there is a magic show and an Ice Nanta performance. On Sunday, a B-boy performance, a cocktail show and a singing contest are scheduled.

In addition, every night two films are shown (6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m., 9:30 p.m. – 11p.m.) on the large electronic display at the waterfront square and visitors can enjoy riding a boat around the fountain at the waterfront park.

A popular spot at Spo1 Park is the night view of the illuminated Sip-jangsaeng fountain, which depicts the ten traditional symbols of longevity.
