For the first time ever, a local city bus is now serving Gadeokdo Island in Busan.

The ferry connecting Gadeokdo Island and the mainland ceased service on June 14 and from June 15, the No. 58 local bus started to run out to Seonchang Village in Gadeokdo to make public transport access more convenient for both residents and tourists.

The No. 58 local bus, which previously ran from Donga University, Hadan-dong, Saha-gu to the front of the main building of Busan New Port via Hadan Subway Station and Noksan Industrial Complex, has now extended its route as far as Seonchang Village. From Busan New Port to Seonchang Village, the bus travels along the 1.2 kilometer, 4-lane road which was first opened on June 4.  Three No. 58 local buses run 27 times a day, at 40-minute intervals, from 5 a.m. until 10 p.m.

Transferring to Gangseo No. 1 village/neighborhood bus, which serves other communities on Gadeokdo, is possible at the standard transfer discount rate.
