Gamcheon Cultural Village in Saha-gu, acquiring world fame as a successful model for urban regeneration, received attention again with its Abandoned House Residency project, in which world-renowned architects participated in remodeling abandoned houses in the village into creative spaces for artists.
Busan Metropolitan City and Saha-gu began the residency project in September 2014. Six abandoned houses were transformed into four unique cultural art houses by four famous architects. The opening ceremony will be held on October 30th. In residence will be painters, writers and musicians creating art works and offering cultural programs for visitors.
