The 12th PIFF poster is completed. It is based on the hyperrealism painting, ‘Sand Play 0305-F’ by Kim Changyoung and is designed by the PIFF Art Director, Choi Soondae.
Kim Changyoung, called the painter of ‘Sand Picture’, has painted sand persistently over the last 30 years. Mr Kim, born in Daegu, began to live in Haundae, Busan since 1978 and started to draw sand paintings inspired by sand images appearing on the sand beach.
‘Sand Play 0305-F’, the 12th PIFF poster, is the painting drawn by the traces of footprints or scratches of hand with the technique of trompe-l'oeil on the canvas covered with the thin layer of real sand.
The poster represents the image of ‘Hand Printing’, one of PIFF’s major events and depicts the image of the festival and Busan city by the ocean.
