The World Korean Business Convention opens

Over 2,000 businessmen from 45 countries expected to participate

The 5th Busan World Korean Business Convention, kicking off on the 31st for Korean businessmen working outside Korea, will be the largest ever.

The World Korean Business Convention is designed to forge a network out of the 2,500 Korean businessmen scattered around the world in 170 countries, like the Chinese Business Convention and the Indian Business Convention.  This arena for world business has been hosted in Korea yearly since 2002.

The Overseas Koreans Association and Busan city announced that over 2,000 businessmen from 45 countries will participate in the 5th World Korean Business Convention at Haeundae BEXCO from Oct. 31 to Nov. 2. About 500 more will participate compared to last year, when 1,500 businessmen attended.

The scale of the exhibition has also grown.  This will be the largest ever with over 950 booths: 350 booths for company exhibitions, 100 booths for Busan companies and 500 booths for Busan International Footwear & Textile Fashion Week.

At this year's convention, there will be various forums, seminars, investment promotion and consulting events, one-on-one business meetings, Korean food exhibitions and tourism and industry tours.

The Busan city has prepared company and job fairs and a CEO forum during the World Korean Business Convention to promote information exchange, trade and investment between overseas Korean businessmen and local businessmen.

Meanwhile, the Overseas Koreans Association expects that, for the first time ever, trade at the Busan World Korean Business Convention will exceed $100 million.
