Namsung Shipping Co. opened a new regular container service between Incheon and Hong Kong and Shenzhen via Gwangyang and Busan on Nov. 3, the Incheon Port Authority said.

Namsung will put the 4,124-ton Bonny Star and 3,997-ton Happy Star on the Shenzhen line, starting a weekly run on Fridays from Incheon's Nam Hang (South Port).

The local shipping company will also run the Gwangyang-Busan-Hong Kong line three times per week, as part of cargo transshipment in Korea to and from Hong Kong.

The port authority forecast that the new service will add up to 250 TEUs (twenty feet equivalent units) of container shipping per sailing, or 13,000 TEUs per year. It will also contribute greatly to coastal shipping between Busan and Incheon, a service that had been stopped.
