Busan expands its air routes

Gimhae International Airport has expanded its routes to other main cities around the world.

Cathay Pacific Airways has increased services from Busan to Hong Kong to three times a week as of the 19th of last month, and will start providing services every day from this April.

 

An air route to Munich, Germany will also open.

Lufthansa will launch a new route connecting Gimhae International Airport, Incheon International Airport and Munich, operating three times a week from March. Until now, the European routes operated only seven times a week between Incheon International Airport and Frankfurt.

The heads of the Korean branch of Lufthansa visited Busan last September to talk about flight demand in Busan and decided to open new routes between Busan and Europe.

The Busan-Shanghai and Busan-Beijing routes are already in operation, providing convenience to passengers.

Asiana Airlines increased Busan-Shanghai services to five times a week on Nov. 18.

Korean Air increased its Busan-Beijing services to five times a week on Dec. 15, 2006, and will provide daily services from this coming March.
