The Overseas Koreans Foundation, the organizer of the event, and Busan City announced that Busan City has been selected as the priority venue for the 6th World Korean Business Convention in October 2007.

The Overseas Koreans Foundation will assess the conference schedule and budget with Busan City officials before it decides the final venue for the conference in February 2007.

Busan City applied to host the 6th World Korean Business Convention 2007 in January 5, 2007 and judged highly for the successful hosting of the last year's conference by businessmen. The size of BEXCO, the accommodation plan, the business events and the conference preparation plan were also rated highly compared to other cities.

The World Korean Business Convention is designed to forge a network out of the Korean businessmen scattered around the world in 170 countries. This arena for world business has been hosted in Korea yearly since 2002.

Busan City has achieved many notable results in promoting information exchange, trade and investment between overseas Korean businessmen and local businessmen through the CEO forum, the business exhibition, the investment promotion, the job fair and one-on-one business meetings during the 5th World Korean Business Convention in 2006. The job fair through overseas Korean businessmen is expected to activate the local economy as well.
