Ice skating and sled rides
Sled-riding, ice-skating and other winter sports are perfect ways to appreciate the season. As there are indoor and outdoor skating rinks and sled hills all around Busan, you can enjoy these winter sports with ease. There are 10 skating rinks and sled hills open in Busan currently. [Photo]Safety first! Helmeted children enjoy a skate at Bukgu Cultural-Ice Center. ▷ Bukgu Cultural-Ice Center= Over 400 people can skate at the same time on this 0.45-acre skating ring. The ice rink is 30 meters wide and 61 meters long, fitting international standards, and has the latest facilities, with about 550 auditorium seats and changing rooms. Admission fees are 5,000 won ($5.4) for children, 5,500 won for teenagers and 6,000 won for adults. Skate rental is included. Open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
▷ Oncheoncheon Outdoor Skate Rink= The Oncheoncheon Outdoor Skate Rink, located across the street from the artificial waterfall below Dongnae Stat ion, is 30 meters wide and 61 meters long, and 700 skaters can use it at the same time.
The rink is up to international standards, and it opened just last month. It features a membership system. Workshops and regular skating classes are open to kindergarteners, students and adults. Admission fees are 4,000 won ($4.3) per person. Fees include skate rental costs. Open everyday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. until Feb. 15.
▷ Bexco Sled Hill= The Bexco Sled Festival takes place until Feb. 20 here. The outdoor sled hill consists of a speedy bobsled hill, an eversnow sled hill and a North Pole experience for children. Admission fees are 8,000 won for children and teenagers and 10,000 won for adults. Open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. jjang55@busan.go.kr
