New Year Celebration Tower lighting up the Busan City Fountain Square

Busan City lit the 2009 New Year Celebration Tower at the Fountain Square of the City Hall on December 17. This 15.5 meter tall and 3 meter wide tower in the center of the Square is decorated with about 8,000 light bulbs on 1,500 strings and a New Year’s message in three languages: “새해 복 많이 받으십시오.” in Korean on its front, “Happy New Year” in English on the left, and '謹賀新年’ in Chinese on the right.

 

The tower will be lit until the end of January 2009 from sunset until 1:00 a.m., but will be illuminated throughout the night on Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve and Lunar New Year’s Eve.
