Busan October festivals to captivate visitors

PIFF, Multimedia Fireworks Festival and Jagalchi Festival
- just to name a few

October in Busan is full of festivals and a variety of cultural events to enjoy. It is the best time to appreciate fall at its peak and experience the beauty of Busan.

Starting with the 12th Pusan International Film Festival, or PIFF, a host of unique events of the marine city, such as the 3rd Busan Multimedia Fireworks Festival along Gwangan Grand Bridge and Gwangalli Beach and the Busan Jagalchi Festival, are expected to attract tourists from home and abroad.

The 12th PIFF, which will run from Oct. 4 to 12 at the Suyeong Bay Yachting Center, Haeundae and Nampo-d ong, will screen 275 films from 64 countries. 

The 3rd Busan Multimedia Fireworks Festival, which will mark its third year in 2007, will be held for two days from Oct. 19 to 20. With the Gwangan Grand Bridge as the backdrop, the festival features a laser/sound multimedia art show.

The 2007 Busan Jagalchi Festival, the largest marine products festival in Korea, will be held for five days from Oct. 10 at Jagalchi Market in Jung District. In addition, the 4th Chinatown Festival will be held from Oct. 5 to 7 on Shanghai Street in Dong District, followed by the Dongnae Historical Festival from Oct. 12 to 14 at Bukmun Square in Dongnaeeupseong.

The 3rd Busan International Tea Cultural Festival is from Oct. 19 to 21 at Suyeong Bay Yachting Center.
