Marine diesel engine manufacturer Wartsila Corp. announced the opening of a new service center and office in Busan, Republic of Korea.
The company, which is headquartered in Helsinki, said the opening will help it to centralize its business units in Republic of Korea, as its Services, Ship Power, Power Plants and Industrial Operations units, together with finance and administration, will eventually relocate to the new office.
The company said its operations "have expanded exponentially" in Republic of Korea, and that the new center will aid further expansion.
The new facility, close to the new port in Busan, will be fully operational by July, 2009.
Wartsila in 2008 increased its Korea staff by more than 25 percent to about 350, and plans to add another 70 people in the coming year.
