Monday, November 24th 2008, Busan, Korea - Busan Port Authority (BPA) will participate at a development project of Inland Container Depot (ICD) in Suifenhe, China. It is a part of efforts to create new cargo following its investment in Nakhodka port of Russia.

BPA said on 24th that it signed on MoU with a municipal government of Mudanjiang, a city of Suifenhe from China, JSC Far Eastern Transport Group(DVTG) from Russia, and Hyundai Logistics from Korea over the development and operation of ICD at President Hotel in Seoul, Korea on November 24th.

The MoU covers joint investment into the development project of ICD, located at Suifenhe-Buguranikinai Trade Zone.

In details, the agreement includes land providing with low lease fees and development of infrastructures such as load and rail by the municipal government of Mudanjiang and the Suifenhe City and cargo attraction and capital investment by Hyundai Logistics and BPA, and TSR service by DVTG.

Suifenhe linking with Primosky Krai by rail imports 8 million tons of timber from Russia annually and exports them through a port of Dailan.    Considering the growth potential of Suifenhe, BPA's investment in ICD of Suifenhe will make significant contribution to creating new cargo at Busan Port when it connects with the Port of Nakhodka where BPA decided to invested in developing fisheries terminals to container terminals and multi-purpose terminals.

BPA agreed on co-development with the city of Suifenhe in last April.
