'Come to enjoy seafood, fashion show'

□ Busan International Seafood & Fisheries Expo 2008: Busan City will hold the Busan International Seafood & Fisheries Expo 2008 or BISFE 2008, the largest ever of its kind in Korea, at BEXCO, Nov. 13-16.

 

A total of 170 companies from 25 countries will take part in the 6th annual expo. The expo has four exhibition halls - the seafood hall for frozen and refrigerated products, the hall for fishing nets and other hightech fishing equipment, the hall for seafood and fishing gear from foreign countries and the marine bio hall.

 

The expo aims at helping foreign buyers, marine food exporters and tourists get a taste and look around seafood and fishing devices at a glance.

 

The city will arrange a plaza for trade negotiations between foreign buyers and marine food processors in Busan during the expo period to help increase exports.

□ Busan International Footwear & Textile Fashion Exhibition or BIFOT: The Busan International Footwear & Textile Fashion Show or BIFOT will be held at BEXCO, Nov. 20-22, featuring shoes and textile products from across the world.

 

The exhibition is one of the major international events in Busan, aimed at making Busan a hub of footwear and textile goods in Northeast Asia, while regaining its fame of the traditional industries.

 

A total of 550 booths will be prepared for 270 manufacturers from 10 countries at the exhibition, which will be co-hosted by the Footwear Industrial Promotion Center of Busan and BEXCO. It has been coorganized by Busan City and the Ministry of Knowledge Economy.

 

The exhibition is divided into three sections - the textile exhibition on finished goods, raw material and half-finished products, machinery and accessories; Pret-a-Porter for eight fashion shows and one explanation session on the latest trend; the sideline events covering footwear and fashion show, open traditional costume contest, fashion design contest and export deals.
