More attractions like Cinema Street make it onto this year’s list
It’s a well-known fact that Busan’s Haeundae-gu Distrct offers myriads of sites to see.
To make your tourism life easier, the Haeundae-gu office came up with the ultimate Haeundae bucket list, which has 12 top sites to visit and seven must-see night views.
The Haeundae-gu (district) Office organized a committee comprised of experts in tourism and culture industry in charge of designating the 12 Scenic Attractions of Haeundae and the Top Seven Night Views of Haeundae.
The 12 landmarks include Haeundae Beach, Songjeong Beach, Dongbaekseom Island, Dalmaji (greet the moon) Road and Busan Aquarium, which were previously on the list.
However, some newbies that also claim the list include Cinema Street, APEC Naru Park, Cheongsapo and the old Donghae Nambu Railroad.
In the meantime, the Top Seven Night Views were compiled after a survey with local and foreign tourists and local residents, together with an analysis of Big Data on social media.
The locales that claimed the honor of boasting captivating night views include Nurimaru APEC House, Gwangan Bridge, Busan Cinema Center, Moontan Road and moonrise at Haewoljeong.
Haeundae-gu Office upgraded 12 Attractions of Haeundae, previously announced in 2005, in a bid to promote new tourism attractions and cultural facilities that have been gaining popularity over the past decade.
Gwangan Bridge and BEXCO were taken off the list this time.
The Donghae Nambu Railroad and Cinema Street were added, since the former features a remarkable coastline and exudes a retro feel.
The latter provides a chance to view movie posters and varied installations related to the films shot in Busan.
Equally attention-grabbing is the list of the top seven night views, where one can enjoy entrancing urban views against a lit-up ocean backdrop.
The Haeundae Night View Tour, in particular, is a must-try for locals and foreign tourists.
The tour brings with it cool breezes and exotic views - the perfect combination for a hot summer night.
The Haeundae-gu office intends to introduce the 12 Attractions of Haeundae and its Top Seven Night Views of Haeundae in various tourism brochures and maps.
It is also zeroing in on commercializing the sites as tourism products, setting up photo zones and other facilities.
