The
Busan National Gugak Center announced that it will allow audiences to take
pictures during the Saturday Performances of Korean Traditional Music &
Dance which take place every Saturday at 3 p.m. The photo-call service will
take place two minutes before the performance is over.
Photography
has been prohibited during the performance. Therefore, there is no
commemorative material except the printed brochure of the performance for the
audience to keep. To correct this, the Busan National Gugak Center launched the
photo-call service to take place during performances.
The
guide subtitles on the screen at both sides of the stage will announce the
beginning of the photo-call. Audience members are unable to take pictures
before the guide subtitle appears on the screen.
The
Busan National Gugak Center plans to expand the photo-call service to other
performances. It aims to promote Gukak to the public.
The
size of the audience for the Saturday Performance of Korean Traditional Music
& Dance has reached about 60,900 since May 2009 and increases every year as
it gains popularity.
The
performance includes a UNESCO designated intangible cultural asset, music and
instruments, folk dance, court culture, percussion and vocal music, traditional
plays, creative dance, folk music, and Korean orchestra music.
Tickets
are 10,000 won for A seats and 8,000 won for B seats. Online reservation at http://busan.gugak.go.kr or www.interpark.com is
