The
summer beach season begins at Gwangalli Beach from July 1 to September 10.
Suyeong-gu
has opened Gwangalli Beach from June 1 every year but this year’s opening has
been delayed because of the Sandy Beach Restoration Project. The beach has been
expanded, offering a more pleasant, safe environment for beach goers.
The
foot-washing zone has also been expanded and improved. Showers and changing
rooms, air guns for removing sand, drinking fountains and reed parasols have
all been installed. Additionally, there are areas where people can bring their
own parasols as well.
The
foot-washing zone and public restroom are located near the Millak water-front
park and opened this April.
From
this year, smoking, fireworks, cooking and camping, and commercial activities
without a license on or near the beach area are prohibited by law and those
found to be in violation of the law will be fined. (For more information,
contact the Suyeong-gu Office at (051)610-4742)
