City Tour Bus to Add Private Operator

The City of Busan, Busan Tourism Organization and Taeyeong Inc. made an agreement on operating city bus tours on June 18 at Busan City Hall.
Busan City Tour has introduced a double-decker bus for the first time in Korea and it has gained wide spread popularity among Korean and foreign tourists. However, as the number of visitors to Busan has greatly increased in recent years, increased lines and wait times during peak seasons have continued to inconvenience tour goers.
Therefore, the city decided to add a city tour bus operator from the private sector to provide improved city tour services. Taeyoung Inc. was selected and will begin operations of the city tour bus from July 14, 2015. The company will also operate a double-decker bus it imported from Europe.
The Busan Tourism Organization will operate the Haeundae tour course and Taeyoung Inc. will operate the Taejongdae tour course. Both courses will depart from Busan Station.
A city official said, “About 240,000 tourists used the Busan City Tour bus last year. We expect this year’s tours to be made more convenient and pleasant through this new system.”
