A large fireworks display will greet world economic and political leaders on Nov. 16 for the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) at Gwangalli Beach in southeastern port city of Busan.

Hotels, bars and restaurants on the beach are currently enjoying a rush of reservations from Busan citizens and visitors wishing to get a good view of the fireworks on the day of the event.

Hotel Homers which is on the beach, where the welcoming reception of APEC CEO Summit will take place on Nov. 16, is busy answering the rushing phone calls.

The display will take place from 8:30 p.m. on Gwangalli Beach and Gwangan Bridge, which can be seen from the beach.

The show will start with a recreated turtle-shaped Geobukseon, a 16th-century Korean warship, entering on the sea. About 80,000 aerial bombs will be shot, along with laser beams and lightings.

Various traditional Korean performances sponsored by the Federation of Korean Industries and the city government will also be presented to foreign guests.

On Nov. 11, Asia's top pop stars, including Korean dance group Tong Vfang Xien Qi, Hong Kong singer Kelly Chen, and Thai singer Lanna Commins, will celebrate the summit at the Asia Song Festival at Sajik Stadium.

“Chongmyo Cheryeak,” Confucian shrine music, will also be performed on Nov. 19, the last day of APEC at the Busan Cultural Center.
