Busan Metropolitan City Public Notice No. 2005-587 International Lighting Design Competition for Gwangan Grand Bridge and Gwanganri Beach   Busan Metropolitan City is pleased to announce the International Lighting Design Competition for Gwangan Grand Bridge and Gwanganri Beach. The objectives of the competition are: (1) To strengthen Busan's standing as an international port city by creating a beautiful urban environment befitting its identity: (2) To create a "Busan Landmark" harmonizing the lighting and image of Gwangan Grand Bridge and Gwanganri Beach with those of BEXCO, and the APEC Theme Park: (3) To create a high-tech multimedia theme park fitting Busan's image as the marine capital of Northeast Asia in the 21st century.   1. Project Name International Lighting Design Competition for Gwangan Grand Bridge and Gwanganri Beach.   2. Project Subject Gwangan Grand Bridge and Gwanganri Beach area (L=1.5Km)   3. Project Coast Four billion won (including design cost and prize money)  1) Basic and design cost: 164,200,000 won  2) Prize money: 50,000,000 won  3) Construction cost: 3,786,000,000 won   4. Project Period September 2005 ~ December 2006 (2 years)   5. Eligibility    1) Businesses that are registered as a design business for electric facilities       under Article 14 of the Electric Technology Management Act and Article       27 of Enforcement Decree thereof.    2) Businesses that are authorized as an industrial design firm under      Article 9 of the Enforcement Ordinance of the Industrial Design Promotion Act.    3) Only team entries will be allowed, which must be led by an appointed representative. (Only single consortia will be recognized)       ※ A person or business thatmeets the eligibility criteria of both 1) and 2) can enter the competition alone. 4) Consortia may include foreign partners.   6. Briefing Session 1) Date: September 30, 2005 (Fri.) 14:00 2) Place: International Conference Hall (12th floor), Busan Metropolitan City Hall 3) Description: Briefing on project, schedule, screening process, etc.   7. Application Submission 1) Date: October 4, 2005 ~October 5 (two days) 2) Place: Culture and Art Division (11th floor), Busan Metropolitan City Hall 3) Required documents  · Competition registration form (1 copy)  · Appointment of Representative (1 copy)  · Documentary Evidence proving contestant's eligibility (1 copy)  · List of contestants to the Competition (1 copy)   8. Design Submission 1) Date: November 30, 2005 (Wed.) 09:00~18:00 2) Place: Culture and Art Division (11th floor), Busan Metropolitan City Hall 3) Required documents  · Competition entry form (1 copy)  · Design board for judges, design description, design drawing, and    design specifications   ※Note: If a third party submits the relevant documents, he or she is                      required to produce a letter of attorney (Submission by mail is not allowed)   9. Screening and Prizewinner   1) Announcement of results: December, 2005 (specific date undecided)   2) Screening criteria and points: These will be explained during the briefing session   3) Winners and Prize money · First prize (1 team): a certificate of merit and the right to undertake the project · Second prize(1 team): a certificate of merit and prize money of 30million won · Third prize (1 team): a certificate of merit and prize money of 20 million won ※ Winners may not be chosen if presented works fail to meet a certain level.   10. Detailed design: December 2005  January 2006 (two months)   11.
