As an international and comprehensive IT exposition, ‘IT EXPO BUSAN 2005’ launched its opening ceremony on September 1, and will last for four days from Sep. 1st thru 4th.

Under the joint auspices of Busan Metropolitan City and the Ministry of Information and Communication, the expo will be supervised by the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency. During the exhibition, about 170 domestic and overseas IT companies such as KT, LG, SONY, and Microsoft, will show off their state-of-the-art hardware and software solutions, the ultimate home network systems, and various types of IT related products. Visitors can experience hands-on experimental events as well.

The main concept of this exhibition is ‘Ubiquitous City Busan,’ which is a target Busan Metropolitan City is now pursuing. Through this exhibition, it seems that Busan is to heighten Busan citizens’ understanding of the U-City Project that Busan has been designing.

The opening ceremony included Busan mayor Hur, the president of the Busan Metropolitan Council Jo Kil Woo, and a number of IT related figures participating in the exhibition. During the ceremony, the presidents of five domestic IT companies were awarded the 2005 Busan Venture Enterprise Award.

The exhibition is open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and the entrance fee is 2,000 won.
