Busan wins world recognition award

Busan has won recognition as one of the world's best in the Balanced Scorecard Collaboration or BSC sector.

 

The city recently received the “2008 World BSC Hall of Fame” award, co-sponsored by World BSC Association and Palladium Group Inc., a world-renowned U.S. consulting agency. Busan is the first local government in Korea to receive the prestigious award.

The “World BSC Hall of Fame,” instituted by Dr. Kaplan of Harvard University and other scholars in 2000, has been given to private companies and pubic agencies throughout the world showing business excellence..

 

Among previous recipients of this award are Canon, BMW, Mobil, the U.S. Department of Commerce as well as KT, E-land, KOTRA and the Ministry of Administration and Security.

 

The city introduced the BSC as the first local government to do so in 2005, concluded business contracts with department heads of Grade-5 or higher and reflecting their performances in pay and promotions at year-end as part of its efforts.
