Fare rises 20% to 100 won per 143 meters

 

Base taxi rate in Busan rose 400 won to 2,200 won($1.8) as of Oct. 1. This amounts to an increase of 20.46 percent, or 16.98 percent for “model” or “large-sized” taxicabs.

Accordingly, the base rate for midsize taxis rose 400 won from 1,800($1.5) won to 2,200 won($1.8) for the first two kilometers.

 

Currently, the fare rises by 100 won every 169 meters, but it will do so every 143 meters under the changed fare system.

 

The fare in terms of time, applied when vehicles run at 15 km per hour or slower, will go up by 100 won per 34 seconds instead of the present 41 seconds.

 

The starting charge for model or large taxis climbed 300 won from 4,200 won($3.5) to 4,500 won($3.8); the per-distance fare of 200 won, from 199 meters to 160 meters; and the pertime fare of 200 won, from 48 seconds to 38 seconds, respectively.
