Busan International Ethnic Music Festival makes debut

Citizens will have the opportunity to appreciate the folk music of Korea, China and Mongolia each boasting their respective colors in one place.

 

The city will hold the 1st Busan International Ethnic Music Festival at Busan Cultural Center Main Theater at 7:30 p.m. in Sept. 23-25.

 

On the first day of the three-day event, the Guangpa Folk Music Band that represents China will reproduce such well-known classical works in their unique style.

 

Mongol National Folk Music Orchestra will be on stage on the second day. The audience will be able to enjoy the performance of the famous Mongolian instrument of "Merlin Hor," which is registered with the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Asset, here in Busan. On the third and final day, Busan City National Classical Music Orchestra will provide various melodies of "Arirang" by adding modern touches to the nation's most famous song.
