“’No Car Day’ is on September 22, so leave your car keys at home.”

To improve the city’s air quality, ease congestion and save energy through citizens’ voluntary participation and to promote the use of public transport or bicycles, the Busan City government will hold a “No Car Day” on September 22.

A ‘Car-Free’ zone will be created on a 900 meter long road in front of BEXCO, Haeundae, and various performances and exhibits will be held there for the benefit and enjoyment of citizens, from 6 am to 6 pm. In addition, there will be a bicycle parade on the 3 kilometer road from BEXCO to the Yachting Center from 11 a.m.

City authorities are urging people to use public transport on that day. The parking lots of the city hall and all public agencies will be closed from 6 a.m. until noon.

The city has also announced that the ‘No Car Day’ on September 22 will be an annual event, to encourage public transport use.
