Ad festival to quicken globalization

Invites Esther Lee as chairwoman of screening committee

Busan is stepping up efforts to make the first international advertisement festival the city hosts a global event.

 

The Busan International Advertisement Festival Organizing Committee (chairman, Mayor Hur Nam-sik; executive committee chairperson Prof. Lee Eui-ja of Kyungsung University) is going all out to give global scale and nature to the event, which will be held at Haeundae Beach and its vicinity from Oct. 21-24.

 

The organizing committee has commissioned renowned advertisement expert, Esther Lee, to serve as the chairwoman of the screening committee.

 

Lee is a Korean-American and CEO of Euro RSCG Worldwide, an advertising company headquartered in New York operating 233 branches in 75 countries. The company is now making ads for such top-notch businesses as CNN, Nestle and Citibank. With unique, creative advertisements, it has received awards at various international ad competitions, including the Golden Lion Award at the Cannes International Advertisement Festival.

 

The organizing committee held an explanation session in New York last month before global advertising leaders. Prof. Lee, the executive committee chairwoman, also visited various advertisement-related agencies based in New York.
