One of Busan’s most iconic landmarks, the Gwangan Bridge (or Diamond Bridge as it is also known), has been newly transformed with the installation of thousands of LEDs.

The Gwangan Bridge Exterior Lighting Renewal Ceremony took place on December 6, 2013, and attracted photographers from across the country that came to capture the bridge’s spectacular display of lights.

With all the attention that the bridge has been attracting, where to get the best view of the bridge’s famous nightscape has come up for discussion. Therefore, to select the best place to see the Gwangan Bridge, about 100 members of the largest photo group in Korea, “Chulsa Korea,” took photos at six viewing points they had chosen on December 6, 2013, at around 6 p.m. The six viewing points were seaside apartment buildings in Millak-dong and Namcheon-dong; the KT relay station on top of Mt. Hwangnyeongsan; high-rise apartment buildings in Yongho-dong; Marine City in U-dong (Haeundae); and Igidae Park in Nam-gu.

The best photos were taken from seaside apartment buildings in Namcheon-dong and Yongho-dong and captured the front of Gwangan Bridgeat a 45 degree angle with the high-rise apartment buildings of Marine City in the background.

Visitors are able to enjoy the bridge’s spectacular array of lights at various locations across Busan and are encouraged to try and take their own the best shots of Gwangan Bridge’s nightscape.
