The Busan Nakdong River Project Management Office has opened a toboggan slope at the public outdoor swimming pool at Hwamyeong Waterfront Park in Buk-gu District. The slope will be open to sledders from December 30, 2013, through February 16, 2014.
The slope is 50 meters long, 18 meters wide and 7 meters high, and is equipped with a snowplough as well as a variety of adjacent entertainment facilities such as bumper cars, a kid’s train, traditional folk plays, smelt fishing, a trampoline, and a snack bar.
Opening hours are from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. daily and admission is 5,000 won for adults, 4,000 won for youths and 3,000 won for children. Ride fares vary from 1,000 won to 3,000 won per ride.
To get to the toboggan slope by metro, get off at Sujeong Station (Line 2) and then walk about ten minutes toward the Nakdong riverside. By bus, take Bus Nos. 15, 59, 111, 121, 126 or 1009. Free parking is available as well for those going there by car.
As an all-year-round family-oriented theme park, the Hwamyeong Outdoor Swimming Pool will be used as a water park in the hot summer months, as a skating rink and sledding grounds in the winter, and as an outdoor stage and cafeteria in the spring and fall.
