Busan Sea Festival Kicks Off Today

The 10th Busan Sea Festival is to be held from Aug. 1 to Aug. 9 on the main beaches of Busan including Haeundae, Gwangalli, and Songdo.

Sponsored by Busan City under the theme of “APEC 2005 in Busan, Sea of Festival,” the event includes an opening ceremony with music performances, “Water Activity Sports,” a windsurfing championship, a beach volleyball championship, and the “Hanbada Festival for the Disabled.”

The organizing committee for this event has also planned a spectacular fireworks display on the opening night, the highlight of this festival.

“Busan Sea Festival is one of the major summer events held here in Busan, and we expect this event to help establish Busan as a people-oriented international city,” said Busan City Mayor Hur Nam-sik.
