Taxi fare increases

Regular Taxi Fare

increased by 11.29 percent from 17 August, 2005

 

The fare system is based on both distance and time.

The fares are 1,800 won for the first 2 kilometers and 100 won for each additional 169 meters.

If the taxi is going less than 15 kilometers per hour, an additional charge of 100 won per 41 seconds is added to the fare.

The fares increase 20 percent after midnight until 4 a.m. (the late-night surcharge).

 

Deluxe (Mobeom) Taxi Fare

increased by 36.34 percent from 17 August, 2005

 

The fares are 4,200 won for the first 3 kilometers and 200 won for each additional 199 meters.

If the taxi is going less than 15 kilometers per hour, an additional charge of 200 won per 48 seconds is added to the fare.

The 20% late-night surcharge does not apply to Deluxe (Mobeom) Taxis.
