The Organizing Committee of AD STARS 2010 announced on July 26th that it has finally selected 951 advertisements for the final event by using a preliminary screening which took place from July 7th to July 20th. The selection was made by 97 judges from a total of 35 countries. All of these 951 ads are now destined to compete for the grand prizes of AD STARS 2010.

Again, these 951 works will compete for the grand prizes in the final event that will take place from August 26 until 28 at the Haeundae Grand Hotel, in which 26 ad experts from 16 nations will be participating as judges.

There are two categories in which grand prizes will be awarded, namely Product/Service and PSA (Public Service Advertising), with the winner of each category receiving a 10,000 USD Grand Prize. There will be also various other prizes including gold, silver, bronze and special awards.

Taking a closer look into the submissions for this year, 17.5% of all the entries will be entered into the final event. As for their origin, 150 out of 1,846 domestic ads, or 8.1% of the total, advanced to the final event, along with 801 ads out of 3,591 overseas entries (22.3%).

"Judging to select the finalists was not an easy task because the number of submissions exceeded our expectations. However, at the final event, people will thoroughly enjoy viewing more high quality advertisements from all over the world due to the larger number of entries" said Eui Ja Lee, Chairperson of the Executive Committee of AD STARS.

On a final note, all the submissions of the finalists will be displayed at the exhibition venue on the second floor of the Haeundae Grand Hotel in Busan for everyone to enjoy. The opening ceremony will start at 5 p.m. on August 26th and on the 27th the awards ceremony will be held for the Product/Service category where Gold, Silver and Bronze prizes, as well as the general public’s Netizen STAR Award will be announced.

On the closing day of the ad festival, August 28th, the final awards ceremony will be held, at which the Grand Prize winners of the Product/Service category and PSA categories will be announced along with various special awards, as well as the awards for Young Stars 2010 in which college students are also competing.
