Namhang-gyo(bridge) will be open on July 9. This 1.9 kilometer long bridge with 4-lane road connects Amnam-dong,Seo-gu and Yeongseon-dong, Yeongdo-gu.
Busan Metropolitan City started the construction of the Bridge on October 2007 and completed it in July 30, 2008 at a total cost of 355 billion won.
Namhang-gyo is a part of the Busan coast circulation roads connecting Myeongji Bridge, Namhang-gyo, North Port Bridge, Gwangan Bridge and Gyeongbu Highway respectively.
Busan City expects that the opening of Namhang-gyo will shorten the distance between West Busan Zone, including Noksan Industry Complex in Gangseo-Gu and Yeongdo-Gu, therefore it will reduce travel time by 30 minutes and more.
Namhang-gyo has a pedestrian road which citizens and tourists can enjoy walking with the scenery of the South Port and neighbors.
The night lighting at Namhang-gyo, themed “Gateway to a New World” representing a dynamic image of Busan, creates a magnificent night view.
The completion and opening ceremony will be held on July 9.
