The world’s leading logistics companies’ interests in the third logistics distribution center at Busan New Port.

 

August 8, 2006, Busan, Korea - Busan Port Authority (BPA) held an information session on August 8 regarding a selection of the third tenants in Logistics District of Busan New Port. The world's leading logistics companies from home and abroad participated at the information session expecting to trigger fierce competition.

 

The keen interests from the multinational logistics companies indicated that logistics distribution center around Ung-dong area should be established in an urgent matter.

 

BPA said that more than 150 people from 92 logistics companies from home and abroad participated at the information session adding that particularly Mitsui, one of the Japanese leading logistics companies, MOL, OOCL Logistics took part in the session.

 

BPA also said that 333,225 of distripark at Busan New Port will be provided to the third tenancies and added low lease fee and various tax benefits are the great advantages to the companies doing their business at the distribution center in Busan New Port. 

 

BPA plans to select the third tenancies after evaluating applicants' business performance, finance, cargo creation capabilities and others. Logistics companies having interests in the selection of the third tenancies should submit their application by October 23.

 

Youn Kil Choo, director of International Logistics Business Division from BPA said that the logistics distribution center at Busan New Port is emerging distribution platform in Northeast Asia, adding more distripark should be established for vitalization of Busan New Port.
