More than 200 companies from home and abroad will open an estimated 600 booths during the "2008 IT Expo Busan" slated for Sept. 3-6 at BEXCO.

Busan City and the Ministry of Knowledge Economy have co-organized the IT Expo to invigorate the IT industry and help regional IT firms expand markets. Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency will be responsible for actual operation of the trade show.

The organizers said that they would make it a quality-intensive, rather than quantity-oriented, international expo. Among other participants in the exhibition are related organizations and schools, such as Korea Software Copyright Committee and Tongmyong University.

The expo will display the latest technology in mobile communications, computer hardware and software, home electronic appliances, and digital games and animation. The exhibition space will comprise pavilions for Ubiquitous City, major domestic mobile telecom players, foreign multinational businesses, colleges, organizations as well as halls for digital contents.

The expo will also stage side events such as education information seminars and mini concerts. Participating businesses will also be able to make deals on the spot. The IT Expo has been held every year since 1998 to promote local IT manufacturers and their products. Information: the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency (051-749-9461).
