Seo-gu in Busan Operates Tourism Bus Tour on Weekends from March 29

The Seo-gu Office launched a Seo-gu tour bus service on March 29, 2015. Eco Tour Goose Good Travel operates the service with a 25 seat mini bus and another 12 seat vehicle. 

 

There are two tour courses - Sanbokdoro City Tour and Architecture & Design Tour.

The bus for the Sanbokdoro City Tour runs every Saturday at 2p.m. and the bus for the Architecture & Design Tour departs every Sunday at 10 a.m. Each tour takes three hours.

 

The itineraries of the tours are listed below:

 

Sanbokdoro City Tour

Dong-A University Seokdang Museum → Provisional Capital Memorial Hall → Gamcheon Culture Village → Ami-dong Biseok Village → Choi Min-shik Photo Gallery → Hanmaeum Happiness Center → Mt. Cheonma Sanbokdoro & Sculpture Park → Songdo Catholic Church → Rev Fr. John Lee Tae-seok’s birthplace → Songdo Beach → Songdo Seaside Bolle-gil(trail) → Busan International Fish Market 

 

Architecture & Design Tour

Central Busan branch of Korean Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) → Dong-A University Seokdang Museum → Provisional Capital Memorial Hall → Main building of Bukyeong High School → Gudeok Cultural Park → Deokhyeong-gwan building at Gyeongnam High School → Jeoksan Gaok (old Japanese home during the Japanese colonial period) → Dakbatgol village → Democracy Park

 

After a three month trial run, the Seo-gu Office will officially start the tour bus service from July 2015.  The tour fee is 10,000 won per person.

 

Seo-gu once served as the downtown core of the city, and was the location of the Provisional Government Building for the central government during the Korean War. As a historically significant area, these tours will be able to vividly show traces of Korea’s modern and contemporary history.
