Seo-gu Operates Interpretation/Translation Support Team for Foreign Residents

As the number of multi-cultural families and foreign workers in Busan has been steadily increasing, the Seo-gu Office has been offering civil affair interpretation services for foreigners since 2008.
The interpretation/translation support team includes Seo-gu officials who are proficient in foreign languages and immigrant women fluent in Korean. These individuals will provide assistance to foreigners who are having trouble communicating or filing a complaint.
In total, six foreign languages will be offered, including English, Chinese, Japanese, Filipino, Spanish and Vietnamese.
The Seo-gu Office has also prepared official forms or documents in languages that are most frequently used by the foreign community in Busan. There will be 29 civil affair documents readily available in four different languages – English, Japanese, Chinese and Vietnamese.
