The 4th Busan Nakdong Riverside Yuchae Flower
Festival, hosted by the Busan Nakdong River Project Management Office and
organized by the Organizing Committee for the Busan Culture & Tourism
Festival, will be held from April 11-19 at Daejeo Ecological Park in
Gangseo-gu.
Over 760,000 square meters of Yuchae flowerbeds have been
planted to provide enjoyment to visitors, making it the largest collection of
Yuchae flowerbeds in Korea.
The festival, which began in 2012, has received a positive
response from citizens and welcomed roughly 70,000 visitors over the course of three
days in 2014.
The opening ceremony will be accompanied by a musical
performance, and be held on April 11 at 2PM.
Pinwheels, Jangseung (Korean traditional totem pole),
Sotdae, flower sculptures and environmental art works will decorate the Yuchae
flower paths crossing the park. A maze of flowerbeds as well as observatories
to view the flowers will be set up.
There will be a number of other various things for
visitors to enjoy and experience at the festival including a rural photo
exhibition, farming tool exhibition, rice planting, and watercycle riding.
The Yuchae Flowerbed in Daejeo Ecological Park is located
on Gonghang-ro.
How to get there: Take Metro Line No. 3 to Gangseo-gu
Office Station, then leave by Exit No. 2, or take Bus Nos. 123, 127, 128-1, or
130 and get off at Gangseo-gu Office, which is about a 15 minute walk from the
park.
