Haeundae Sand Festival Opens June 4th

A Sand Festival is held in Haeundae beach, one of the biggest tourists’ attractions in Busan.
Haeundae-gu office in Busan announced on the 12th that there would be a Sand Festival at Haeundae beach from June 4 for three days to celebrate APEC summit meeting in November in Haeundae beach. The main events for the festival are unique Sand Marathon, Sand Golf and so forth. Sand Marathon Contest is divided into two courses, 5km and 1.5km. One can run forward the first 1 km and the other 500m walking backwards. Someone who hit golf ball to the farthest would be a winner at Sand Golf Competition. Sand Motorcycle Race that is riding motorcycle and running past obstacles at the beach is held too. Six-person beach volleyball, four-person beach soccer game would be held. Korean traditional music parade, fireworks are held with Sand Sculpture Exhibition.
