Official Opening of a Sports and Leisure Complex, ‘Spo1park’ on June 24.

Geumjeong Sports Park will be transformed into a sports and leisure complex providing a range of sporting, leisure and education activities. The name ‘Spo1park’ given to the complex symbolizes the intention to make it the best park for people to enjoy sports, leisure and other activities in one place. The ‘Spo1park’ is scheduled to open on June 24.

 

“I was frustrated that there were no special things to do or to see at our park, where 2 million citizens visit every week. “, said Yun Jong-dae, the president of Busan Cycle Racing Corporation, and he added “With the opening of ‘Spo1park’, we are very pleased to be able to provide a broad range of sporting and leisure activities to Busan’s citizens for a reasonable fee.”

 

Renovations to the former gymnasium have turned it into a sports center, including a water park, swimming pool, kids’ playground, indoor golf and fitness facility.

 

Along with the sports center, the ‘Spo1park’ will become a new theme park combining leisure facilities for futsal (indoor football), football, baseball, soccer, cycling and cart riding with education facilities explaining the mystery of birth and life, a traffic school for children and a traffic safety center.
