The Bujeon Market Town, a leading traditional market in Busan, has been modernized. A roof has been built to cover shops and the passage has been paved with colored concrete, so shoppers will not have to bring umbrellas even in rainy weather.

The city and Busanjin-gu District Office has installed the 340-meterlong arcade above the passage of the traditional market at a cost of 2.59 billion won in one year.

All the existing vendors have been banned from the passage so that shoppers can use carts like at large modern markets.

A total of 168 shops at the market have changed their signboards and installed lamps for extending their business into the night. A vendors' street has also been created outside the market for some 120 cart vendors. A tented vendor street has also been formed so that a total of 81 vendors can sell goods at stalls.

A symbolic structure has been installed in front of the Daelim building, the entrance of Bujeon traditional market, and benches have been placed for both shoppers and residents.
