The Art Market, a new cultural attraction in Haeundae, reopened on Saturday, March 10 after closing last December for the winter season, and will now be known as the “Dalmaji Art Flea Market”.
Dalmaji Art Flea Market will be held at Haewoljeong Pavilion on Dalmaji-gil from 2 p.m. through 9 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday until November, 2012.
Visitors can make handicrafts with the artists there. Those who spend over 20,000 won at the free market will get the chance to win lots of instant giveaways - including tickets to Busan Aquarium, harbor cruise tickets, Primus movie tickets and a free mug.
In addition, visitors will be participating in a campaign to help the needy by purchasing artists’ donated handicrafts.
Haeundae-gu District previously held the art flea market at the same location every Saturday, from March until November 2011, exhibiting and selling the artworks of local artists at the small square by Haewoljeong Pavilion. A variety of handicrafts of local artists made with hanji (traditional Korean paper handmade from mulberry trees), leather, fabrics, soap, pressed flowers and pottery proved to be increasingly popular among Busan citizens and tourists as time went by.
