Welcome Back Event for Winter Migratory Birds to the Nakdong Estuary from Nov. 19

Nakdong Estuary Eco Center will hold its 2nd Welcome Back event to mark the return of wintering migratory birds at Eulsukdo Island and around the Nakdong Estuary, from November 19 through November 27 for 8 days.

The Nakdong Estuary, where the Nakdong River meets the sea, is an internationally important wetland area as a habitat for migratory birds and various creatures.

This event aims to promote the unique characteristics and importance of the Nakdong Estuary and to improve the environmental awareness of Busan’s citizens.

 

The events include eco tours - bird watching at the southern end of Eulsukdo Island, a Nakdong Estuary bird watching tour by bus, a reed bed walk at Eulsukdo Island, the feeding of migratory birds at the Nakdong Estuary, an eagle-owl ecology exhibit, and a photo exhibition of migratory birds in Cheolweon, Chuncheon.

 

Most of the programs are free, except for the Nakdong Estuary bird watching bus tour. The bus tour will cost 5,000 won per person and requires prior reservation. There is no event scheduled for Monday, November 21.
