Korea’s largest international exhibition of gaming culture, G-STAR 2011, is scheduled to be held in the city from Nov. 10 through Nov. 13. This year’s theme is “Connect with Games,” and 380 companies from 28 countries will participate.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is co-hosting the event the largest version of the fair ever held in conjunction with the Busan City.

Representative companies from Korea including NCsoft, Nexon, Net Marble and Webzen will set up booths to showcase their latest digital wizardry as well as new games in various genres and media, including those available on the smartphone platform.

Blizzard from the U.S. and Sega from Japan are just some of the world-famous overseas companies that will pitch up for the event.

Blizzard will introduce updated versions of its classic “World of War Craft” and “Star Craft 2” games, while also demonstrating “Diablo 3.”

During the fair, various business events will be held, such as seminars on new trends in the gaming industry, business networking parties, business presentations and special buyers’ tours.

There will also be a job recruiting session for job seekers on Nov. 11. It is also a good chance to obtain recruiting information from the 20 game companies. There is also a smart game competition that lets visitors join in using their smart phones, and various other participatory programs.

And from this year, the game fair has launched an online reservation system. For ticket reservations, visit the G-STAR Web site (www.gstar.or.kr) or that of Interpark (www.interpark.co.kr).
