The Busan Transportation Corporation (BTC) is going to increase the number of metro trains in operation during the 6th Busan International Fireworks Festival which will be held this year from October 21st to the 23rd.
There will be 18 more trains in operation on the festival's first day to help fans get to and from performances by Korean wave celebrities that start at 7 pm.
The number of runs will increase to 108 times on the 22nd and 208 times on the 23rd, specifically from 5 to 8 and 9 to 10 pm. The time between trains will be cut by 4 minutes following the performances.
The city will also set up a fireworks situation room to monitor metro operations and decide whether to run more trains or skip some of the most crowded stations.
