The Busan Hanbok Hall celebrates 100 days of operation on November 22, 2013. The Hanbok Hall, which opened at BEXCO in Haeundae in August 2013, was designed to promote Korean culture to domestic and oversea tourists. It has enjoyed favorable reviews and has welcomed a total of more than 6,000 visitors as of October 2013.
The hall celebrates the hanbok, which is a traditional Korean dress. Upon arrival, visitors are able to try on various styles of hanboks including modern designs as well as those worn during the period of the Joseon Dynasty. On weekends, cultural heritage commentators provide information and interesting stories about the history of the hanbok.
Busan Tourism Organization plans to improve facilities and programs to provide visitors with an experience that not only exposes them to the beauty of Korea’s traditional clothes, but also to the local culture and traditions of Busan.
The Busan Hanbok Hall is located on the first floor of BEXCO and is open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday. It is closed on Mondays and admission is free.
