The
Busan International Kids' Film Festival Organizing Committee hosted its general
meeting for this year’s festival at Busan City Hall on February 12, 2015.
The
Busan International Kids' Film Festival began as a pre-festival event in 2005.
As the top kids’ film festival in Korea, the event is entering its ninth year. From
this year, the festival will expand its program from kids to youths under the age
of 18 and has changed its name to “Busan International Kids & Youth Film
Festival.”
This
year’s festival will be held from July 30 to August 4 for 6 days and will screen
over 100 kids and youth films from 30 countries. Previously, the festival had
been held for five days.
Many
popular programs at the festival are better than ever including film & fun,
cinema sports, tent-theater, poster contest and exhibition, and animation music
concert. Various programs for kid and youth’s experience and participation will
be offered. The festival is expected to become the best kids’ film festival in
Asia.
Citizen
targeted projects are planned to be expanded by offering educational programs
in cooperation with the Busan Cinema Center and increasing the number of film
screenings nationwide.
