Mayor’s New Year’s Address
To all respected Busan citizens and Busan people who bring honor to Busan inside and outside of the country.
New year’s day 2005 of morning is upon.
I wish for the happiness and harmony for your family and prosperity and progress in Busan.
There are big hopes and expectations in the Year, more than any other years.
The APEC Leaders’ Meeting, which was given all our efforts in preparation to hold it, will be finally held in Busan. We have to do our best with the final arrangements for the success of the event.
The successful APEC Meeting will boost Busan’s Authority and attract foreign firms which will promote foreign investment and stimulate Busan’s economy in the tourism and industry area.
Let’s hold the APEC Meeting successfully with the cooperation of the citizens of Busan.
New Year 2005 will be the 10th PIFF anniversary represents the Asia and Korea Exchange Inc. will officially open. It will be a very meaningful year to take the first step towards developing an International Financial City.
It is a time which needs more effort for great progress and development.
Let our efforts in 2005 renew the management of the city with innovation of systems, practices
and the creation of awareness in all areas of society in order to develop Busan to be a young, vibrant, high tech and innovative city creating prosperity and advancement for everyone.
I and the Busan Metropolitan City government will endeavor to successfully implement policy for the well-being of all Busan citizens to ensure their health and happiness. I will do my best to ensure that excellence, progress and glory is brought to Busan and its citizens in the New Year.
Please give much encouragement and assistance to all aspects of dynamic change, development and effort.
My fellow Busan citizens, we can do it!
Let’s proceed to it dynamically with hope and competence.
Let’s create prosperity and advancement with all our collective cooperation in 2005.
