Electric Trains Made in Korea Will Run Soon

Electric trains completely manufactured by Koreans will run for the first time on the subway in Busan, The Busan Traffic Corporation decided on January 12 to put Korea-made electric trains on the Suyeong line, which is slated to open in the forthcoming October. The corporation showed up a set of electric trains which were produced in Daejeo-dong, Gangseo-gu, Busan.

The spare parts of many of the electric trains which are operating in the first and second lines in Busan and those of Seoul are produced by Alsthom in Germany and Mithbushi in Japan, while those of the electric trains to be operated in the third line in Busan is all manufactured by Koreans.

The Busan Traffic Corporation adopted the test standards of advanced countries for the safety of passengers and used incombustible materials after we experienced the tragic subway accident in Daegu. Electric trains to run in Busan are equipped with monitoring system that announce door operations and other damages.
