Busan Port Authority (BPA) decided to annualize an event to raise awareness of Busan Port’s status and importance for citizens from this year on. Busan Port Festival, which is expected to be one of representative Busan festivals, will be held with various themes and programs in which citizens take part. Busan City, Busan Regional Maritime Affairs and Office and Busan Port Authority (BPA) announced on May 7th that they decided to hold the 1st Busan Port Festival around Busan International Cruise Terminal during the 13th the day of ocean from May 30th to June 1st. The Festival was prepared to boast the history of Busan Port and raise the pride of Busan Port, “Korean Marine Capital” among Busan citizens while utilizing the festival as a Busan Port’s marketing arena for visitors home and abroad.
Visitors can take tour around the fifth largest port in the world boarding BPA port guide ship or Tezroc Cruise and participate in an event to look into a container box full of items, enjoying various other activities such as a contest for model ships, a composition contest and a quiz contest asking about Busan Port.
The opening ceremony is scheduled to be held on a special stage of International Cruise Terminal at 7: 30 pm with about 5,000 guests including Busan City mayor and BPA president being together.
On the other hand, BPA is going to hold an international event to facilitate exchanges between ICHCA conference participants and domestic logistics companies on the first floor of Cruise Terminal at 5:30 pm.
An Official said that the Busan Port Festival will serve as stimulus to raise awareness of Busan Port status and develop the port in a central port in North East Asia, saying that advanced international ports across the world hold various port-related festivals to awake their citizens to importance of port.
